About Stord Academy

Stord Academy is Aker Solutions competence centre for practical training at Stord Yard.

We develop, deliver and follow up training activities that support safe, efficient and high-quality work across the yard.

At Stord Academy, professional expertise, industrial experience and modern learning methods come together.

We work closely with production and understand the needs of projects, disciplines and the wider organisation.

This allows us to provide training that is practical, relevant and directly connected to everyday work at the yard.

Stord Academy is responsible for a wide range of courses, competence checks and training activities for employees, hired-in personnel, apprentices and partners.

We provide certified and documented training in several key areas, including

• G4 overhead crane,
• Forklift
• Welding certification
• Fall protection
• Falling objects
• Mobile elevating work platforms

We also register and document DS training, product-specific training and other training carried out at the yard.

Stord Academy also plays an important role in developing future competence. We actively cooperate with NAV and local schools and training departments on training and development programmes.

The Academy also serves as a base for apprentices and helps strengthen the transition between school, training and industry.
